Carette, Georges

Georges Carette was French and moved to Germany when he was a young man.

Georges Carette founded the firm on Georges Carette & Cie in Nüremberg Germany in 1893 although originally he had acted as a supplier for the toy company Bing.

Although Georges Carette was married to a German lady, at the outbreak of World War I, the couple settled at Chantilly, North of France until he died on 8th January 1954 at the age of 93 years

Carette made many tinplate toys including cars, trains, airships and boats.

Carette toys are scare and highly sought after so often achieve high prices, especially for model steam engines and cars.
